Archimedes Academy has started a Youth and Government program to show students how the economy and political systems work. This program shows what is going on with the present economy and how it changes. These students will debate on things they feel are not right for the world. Youth and Government will help the kids extend their vocabulary more and learn how the people of the world react to situations.
Biohazard Games company has recently gotten started at Archimedes. We have an exclusive interview with some of the 8th grade team members, click Read more to see the full story.
As part of our ongoing efforts to prepare students for matriculation to high school, we have created a high school resources survey form. This form will help us collect information about good high schools in New York City and determine how ready you are to matriculate. If you know of any good websites or other resources for finding the best schools around, please suggest them using this form. We will take all the suggestions and compile a master list for everyone to use. Click 'Read more' to see the form.
Our sixth grade students have been hard at work in art class. Some of their most recent projects include 'Everyday Products' and Monoprints. In the Everyday Products project, students took existing products and satirized them with their own personal concepts. In Monoprints, students got to explore the technique of monoprinting, a relief created by laying down one sheet of ink and creating a negative of the final image, then printing it onto another sheet of paper.
